A low pressure system is moving towards the washington d.c, maryland and virginia area. With tropical moisture in place and high dew points it will only enhance the precipitation that we will get starting late today and through Friday. These thunderstorms may drop anywere from 2-4 inches of rain and 5 inches or more localy. Flash Flood Watches and Flood Watches have not yet been issued by the national weather service. There may also be another severe weather outbreak Friday, with isolated tornadoes. But the main story will really be the heavy rain that will be moving through the area. Please stay alert to the possibility of rising water and if you see standing water on the road please “Turn around, Don’t Drown”. Please stay tuned to your local weather stations for further updates.
