Snowfall Forecast

Morning

Afternoon

You know it has been a real roller coaster when it comes to predicting the weather in the long-range. Accuweather has Frozen Precip. on the long range for Riverdale MD Yesterday and now today nothing. Hamweather had snow for Tuesday the second on Tuesday and then it was gone on Wednesday. Guess what it is back, but now on Wednesday December 3rd 2009. The same amount for snow totals 2-4″ but the temperature is 41*F. Right now My advice to everyone is to really just focus on the 7-day. The GFS has a real good handle on that. AccuWeather’s HM (Henry) has been advertising some storm coming up the coast with the models just not jumping on them yet. Well you can take a look at that bellow. Now as for the cold blast, That is still on its way and the temperatures despite modified are still colder than average for this time of year. So for those in the mid-Atlantic and northeast hoping for a snowstorm, one may not be to far off with the cold air coming into place pretty soon. Take care and remember to vote on the new header for winter of 2009 & 2010 bellow. Right now header number 2 is in the lead. I voted for 3 but it is the majority’s choice that matters. Take care everyone :)

PS: The Ham Weather Long Range Forecast For Today @ 10:25pm For Riverdale MD is below and accuweather.com HM is bellow that.

Cold Blast Update

17 November 2009

Hi again. I am just updating you on the thanksgiving storm. It now looks as if it will be a little too warm for the east coast to receive any winter precipitation from this storm. However we will revive a cold rain with temperatures dropping off into the 40′s and even colder in the 30′s by the weekend. But the GFS model has stayed on top of a second storm system developing and moving up the coast. Right now www.hamweather.com has in the forecast for Tuesday,  December 2nd 2009, Snow with temperatures around 34 degrees. It points to the precip as being .37″, in liquid form, but the ratio of snow is 1 inch of rain equals 10″ of snow so, that means that ever .10″ an inch of rain equals 1 inch of snow. So doing the math, if hamweather.com is right they are predicting 2-4″ of Snow For Riverdale MD on the second of December. Now don’t everyone get exited. Things can and probably will change with 2 weeks to go before this storm even is expected to arrive. Things probably will change. But When it comes to the cold air, it looks like it may delay a little but it will still be here before December Starts. So we need to keep our fingers crossed. But as for right now I view the second storm as unlikely for right now. But it is interesting that ham weather had snow for the Riverdale, MD area. Take care everyone! :)

Choose from one of these three headers. The poll will be open until the meteorological start of winter. December 1st. Let the games begin. :)

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Hello All, Sorry i have not answered or responded to all of your posts over the past week. I have been really, really busy. As For the next week in my area we will see a welcomed return to the sunshine Monday threw Friday with temperatures hovering around average to about 1-3 above. For you snow geeks out there, don’t worry it will get cold as we head towards Thanksgiving and after that as well. And maybe if the cold air hangs in we may have our first snow in early December. Hmmmm, something to watch as the GFS model is pretty consistent with the cold blast coming. I will strive to keep you updated as much as possible. Take Care Everyone and have a wonderful Sunday!
