Easter Weekend!

31 March 2010

Violent Thunderstorm Threat! Surging warmth and an approaching cold front will trigger a severe weather outbreak during the first part of the Easter Weekend over the middle of the nation. Dew points are still low due to Gulf of Mexico water temps. that are still low for this time of year. But that will change in the next two weeks. Cities projected to be in the path of these storms Friday/Friday night include Tulsa, Kansas City, Little Rock, Shreveport,  Memphis and St. Louis. Potentially severe and damaging thunderstorms could survive the trip into the Great Lakes region and part of the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys Saturday and Saturday night. The system is now expected to weaken to an area of spotty showers reaching the Appalachians and tha Atlantic Seaboard during Easter Sunday. Looks like those areas will see more severe weather perhaps on a mid-week time frame next week.   P.S. We expect Tn,North MS, Northern AL, Northeast GA, Upstate SC and Western NC to be the worse places in the U.S. for severe weather this year as Tornado Alley shifts east. We’ll talk about the reason for this shift later. Len Holliday

After a damp and wet day from The Washington D.C beltway & all the way to the North and East. Warmer and drier and not to mention sunny weather is on the way. Washington D.C received about 1.15″ of rain, & river flooding was minor. A long stretch of warmer and drier air is on the  way with temperatures around 85 possible on Saturday and Sunday! We will keep you updated on any severe weather here in the mid-Atlantic but as for now, the weather has been rather boring up here. Very little to forecast. As this nor’ easter gets on out of the way, brace for a 7-12 day stretch of warm and sun. This is perfect timing for those who are on spring break here in the Mid-Atlantic. Take care everyone and stay tuned to the weather advance storm team for further updates.

During Friday April 2, 2010 – Sat, April 3, 2010 it now appears there is a good chance of a Severe Weather Event in East Texas reaching the vicinity of West Mississippi by late in the period. It is still way to early to tell what will happen after that.  The computer models are all over the place with this tonight with regard to what happens after Sat, April 3, 2010. We’ll keep you up to date! Len Holliday

Hey everyone, and thanks for stoping by WeatherAdvance. The weather has been a wild one with a-lot of severe weather in the southeast. WeatherAdvance brought you the latest on the storms, and will do so when more severe outbreaks come in the spring. Im possibly thinking that we could do a LIVE broadcast throughout a severe weather situation, making it easier for information to be spread, so if you have any thoughts about that just comment. Now this week will definately feel like summer, with temperatures in the lower to middle 80′s in some areas, which is perfect beach weather. This week looks dry, and it looks to be warm in the next couple weeks, and maybe a cool down in the future, as always we will keep you posted. Have a wonderful week.

The forecast team at Weather Advance Storm Prediction Center did a great job with their forecast with this Tornado Outbreak on this last Sunday and Sunday Night. South Carolina and North Carolina had many reports of major damage from Tornadoes! My son Matthew Holliday was on top of the situation all day and night. I hope some of his forecast and Warning Updates help save some lives! I hate to say it, but I think we are only at ground zero for this Severe Weather Season. This is going to be a bad year. I’m sure our team of forecasters will be ready for the next one. And when it happens again we’ll be right here to keep you up to date! Thanks! Len Holliday
