Time To Look Forward To Spring Of 2012!

Winter at times or, lets be honest, for the most part this winter has felt more like spring. But it is about the time to look forward to the real season of spring as we head into the halfway point of winter in a couple of weeks. As of right now I will look over the recent patterns, model trends and also NAO, AO, PNA projections as well as the ESNO projections and its current status as we head into the spring of 2012.

March: Expect Colder and Snowier Than Average Temperatures

I think March actually will be colder than average believe it or not. Winter appears to be getting on a late start and typically in winters like this one. We have a delayed spring, and there is a lot of back in Winter. I think that is what will be the case this time around. I think we will see more cold & snow as we head into February and will see colder and possibly decent snow in the month of March. So in conclusion here is the map of what I expect to occur for the month of March, colder and snowier than average.

April: Expect Severe weather core to be slightly north of where it ussually is in Spring

I think April will start off around average as we come through what I belive will be a pretty stout period of winter though February and the for at least the first part of March. But as we go through the month I think things will warm up gradually. And I think what we have see over the past few weeks, in severe weather outbreaks will actually shift a little further to the north. Area’s Like the Mid-West, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast should be slightly warmer than average by the end of April and I would not rule out a few severe weather outbreaks in these areas a well. The West should be close to average.
